June 25th was a Wonderful BIRTHday!

My sweet heart took the day off from work! We went to Dallin's swimming lessons together in the morning and then my amazing, thoughtful friend babysat my kids for seven hours! SEVEN hours, she truly is amazing :) The time flies by when you do not have children around. My dear Rolo took me to Krispy Kremes, then we went shopping at DI and bought some books. I love shopping without my children :) (i really do love my kids but it is soooooooooooooo nice to have a break) Then we stopped at Subway to get a lunch to take for a picnic at the Botanical Gardens in Boise.

A self portrait of us at the Gardens! It was beautiful! The rose garden was in full bloom, we sat down on a bench and ate our lunch and watched all sorts of gorgeous birds fly by us. There was a little pond in front of us where we were sitting and a little bird was taking a bath. Then we took a stroll thru the gardens and sat down again for awhile on a swing. One word to describe my life at that point sitting on the swing 'CONTENT' perfectly content.

We had no planned agenda for the day, we took ourselves where ever the wind of adventure led us to.

SO,

we went downtown and went for a ride on a paddle boat

Once again it was beautiful, the geese loved swimming along the side of our boat, we saw a few tiny baby geese, we had fun trying to pedal really fast and then also going really slow just to savor the cool breeze. The best part of the whole day was just being TOGETHER with my husband! Walking hand in hand where ever we went. We did some more shopping and snacking and then came home and watched my two dollar movie purchase from DI "Ever After" It is such a sweet love story.

"And they lived happily ever after"
I have been so blessed and I am so grateful to everyone that has touched my life for good.
P.S Thank you to my Mother who gave birth to me! I have had a wonderful thirty years!

Happy 30th Birthday

There's A Party goin' on right here -- Celebrate Good Times

A group of us local 1978 girls had a totally cool 80's Birthday party! I crimped my hair, used LOTS of hairspray and had a good ol' time putting on BLUE eye shadow baby. My outfit is from DI, I tight rolled the pants, wore big earrings, the belt is the coolest part and I know I am going to look back at these pictures and wonder what ever possessed me to dress like this !

Are you ready for this? Here is my 80's outfit

Havin fun and striking a pose!

We had a blast! We enjoyed Nachos, lots of candy, my favorite candy from the 80s . . . .

'taste the explosion" I have not had pop rocks for at least thirteen years. It brought back great memories feelin the fizzle and poppin inside your mouth! TOO COOL

Our feast - nachos smothered with cheese yummy! yummy! I remember roller skating and I would always order some nachos!

We reminisced about the younger days ...we played MASH, do you all remember listening to Debbi Gibson and Tiffany "I think we're alone now" Sharing a BFF necklace with a friend, the wonderful smell of EXCLAMATION perfume, i loved listening to Micheal Jackson, I remember wearing florescent pink and green spandex shorts and lest we forget...jelly shoes.

I made some friendship bracelets to wear with my outfit, that was fun to do again! Childhood memories are the best and I am so glad we have so many hallmark mementos.

OK back to the party . . . The 30's GANG

We had fun singing a nice round of HAPPY BIRTHDAY to .. Staci, Aundi, Tonya, Shelbie, Liza, Tammy,Rosie, AND Rachel!

Lighting the b-day candles!

Do we all look like we're THIRTY? I can't wait for our 40th birthday party!

We had a white elephant gift exchange and there were some fun items. Aqua net hair spray, scrunchies, candy and so on. I was the lucky one who ended up with the best gift ;) Fake fishing worms. Yes, you read that right, slimy fake fishing worms used for bate NICE!!

Madonna and Cindy Lauper joined our party

The best for last - Dancin to 80's music! O' ya that was so much fun bustin some moves. I was laughing and having a good time. Tammy has some serious good moves! We were listening to Micheal Jackson, Girls just wanna have fun, the jitter bug . . .

If you haven't had an 80's party, you need to put it on your to do list! My thirtieth birthday will be a memorable one. Thank you to all my dear friends. Thanks for making me laugh, everyone at this party had there own sweet/spunky personalities to contribute to making it what it was!

I actually have one more thing I will post about later and that is the craft project that a gal put together for us. She was not able to make it to the party but she made these ADORABLE modern day belts for us. I will post a few pictures and share her creative idea with you all another day.

This was a very very long post but it was a party to remember! We need to have another girls night soon!!

. . .each day is a gift - open and use it.

It officially feels like Summer time. We have been on a vacation, we are staying up LATE and sleeping in LATE :) Dallin started swimming lessons yesterday. We have been spending lots of time outside and playing with friends. Free lunch at the park and library visits for story time, popsicles, kid pools, the kids love playing in there sandbox. They have free kid movies playing at a local theather on Tues and Wedn. so tomorrow we will go watch a little Veggie Tale cartoon "The Pirates who don't do anything" ;) We have a work party this weekend and a sleepover with friends for the kids. Tonight the Relief Society is coming to my house for a Summer Picnic in my backyard and to exchange our recipes that define summer time. (1 cup of Summer and 2 Tbsp. of Fun!) Roaring Springs water park sometime . . . and the list of fun activites goes on and on! I love the gift of seasons and now is the time to enjoy the Summer pleasures.
Have a Sunny - Happy Day Everyone!
O' and on Sunday our A.C stopped working not a good thing now that the temp. is in the 90's. But, thank goodness for church friends with lots of different skills. A guy that has served with Rolo in the young men's came over and fixed it in thirty minutes. Thank goodness for A.C and thank goodness for wonderful people willing to help out and serve eachother.

Short and Sweet Family Vacation

Grandpa, Aunts & Uncles, Cousins, Grandma and a mission reunion all in a six day road trip! Our first stop was at Abuelo's House! Penny made herself comfortable on Grandpa's couch on his front porch, enjoyed some ice-cream and she loved the swing in his backyard. Then we were off to see my Sister and stay at her new house. She does an amazing job with all her interior decor!! Beautiful! (we ran three miles together :) She's ready for the family 5k in August :) We even did a turbo jam workout together! Dallin had so much fun playing with his cousins! He got to ride there scooters, play at the park, learn to play new video games, pet there geico's. Penny liked playing in MJ's pretty girl room. They had a good time entertaining eachother while my sister and I did some sewing and craft projects. Then I had a wonderful time at my Sister Missionary Gathering!!!!! Then off to see my brother and his new house and location where they moved. They have a beautiful country home / lifestyle. My brother took me for a ride on his motorcycle :0 We spent about a day and a half with everyone and we would have loved to spend more time. Short and sweet was the theme for this vacation!! We spent half of Father's day with my Brother and my Sister-in-law made some delicious meals THANK YOU! Then we went to a park up in the Utah canyons and had a BBQ with Rolo's Dad and family. Stayed with my Sister again :) Thank you!! THEN we were off again to see Rolo's Mom and the Rocha cousins. Good Times! The best part of the vacation was watching the cousins play together. They had a GREAT time! Thank you everyone! I have over a hundred pictures from this road trip, here are just a few :)

Rolo's Dad with his six grand babies, all with blonde hair and blue eyes!

Cute Girls in there 4th of July outfits. I showed my sister how to sew the dress MJ is wearing. She did a great job!

Dallin with Grandma Wright

The kids roasting marshmallows at Uncle Ryan's

They have a cool tree house!

Penny with Uncle Ryan :) They have a gorgeous paint horse and Penny loved there spunky little goat!!

I was nervous to ride on Ryan's bike but he's a really safe driver and he took me for a scenic ride up a canyon. It was a fun new adventure to ride on a motorcyle! I can see now why people like to ride motorcyles. Especailly when you live in a beautiful country area!! It is way better than sitting in a car ;)

It was so nice to see my mission President and his wife. They are two special examples to me! Sister Packer is so kind and she was in awe seeing us with our little kids. She said " you were beautiful Sister Missionaries but look at how more beautiful you are now, being a Mom". My President said "Everything you were dreaming of in the mission is now happening" So true!!

Mandy was my first companion :) She is amazing and she taught me so much, and I will always be grateful for a wonderful trainer!

Shauna and I served together for 6 weeks. We had a great time together! It was a short time to serve together but it bonded a sweet friendship. After our mission we were college roommates together and had some more good times. Now eight years later we both have little girls. Who knows maybe they will be mission companions someday together. That would be neat :) Sharee in the purple is the one that organized the Sister get together! All of us LOVE Sharee! She is wonderful and we all are grateful that she keeps us close and in contact with eachother. I was able to serve in Sharee's area in St. Louis for six months and we even went tracting together. Lots of good memories with her!!
