i took a picture of my first sunflower for the year in my backyard

i got a little distracted while washing my dishes and noticed a sunflower blooming outside :) i'll get back to work now :)
At PICNIK you can have fun editing your pictures. I thought this flower looked like it was playing peekaboo ;)
. . . always believe the best in everyone - it's so much easier than trying to figure everyone out.

Tidbits about my week: Craving a whatCHAmaCALLit currently my favorite candy bar :) i really, really, dislike swim suit shopping, reading Anne of Green Gables, swimming at the lake, lunch at the park, yard work, picking lots of raspberries, blowing bubbles, riding bikes, playing in the sprinklers, notice that i have not mentioned laundry or cleaning :) Today i need to do some house work.

Here is another little tidbit i learned on Tuesday. Our Relief Society had a Hawaiian themed dinner and i wanted to wear a flower necklace and put a flower behind my ear and my husband informed me that there is a certain side to wear your flower. I looked it up, placing a flower behind your right ear means you are single and available and putting a flower behind your left ear means you are married :) I happily placed the flower behind my left ear with a bobbie pin, fun fun, i did not know the secret code. Who knew that? And a good way to remember that, is if you are married and have a ring on your left finger you put the flower behind your left ear :)

Have a GREAT day!

Feeling Crafty?

You can buy pressed flowers at a craft store or you can press your own! I would like to frame the letters of Penny's name in a frame and put it in her room.
This would be great for a gift idea.
B. inspired!

The evening of the 4th of July

A beautiful sunset at Lake Lowell

Chillin' and throwing pops on the water dock.

Sparklers ( you can't tell in this picture but Dallin insisted on wearing snowman socks with his cowboy boots and PJ's. What a Kid!

Went back home and watched our neighbors light fireworks. They had a lot! No need to watch them some where else. Penny once again fast asleep as soon as she sat down on my lap. Penny has my genes of being able to fall asleep while watching loud fire works. If you're tired there is no keeping you awake.

We hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday!

The Fourth of July

The kids played hard ALL day long! They had fun with the chalk outside, they had a water fight, they had a good 'ol time running around in there underwear, riding bikes. The fourth was just a simple day but full of moments that you don't ever want to forget. I love seeing my kids play together, giggling and just loving every moment of being care free!

We took the kids to a small town parade! We sat down at the end of the parade and the kids were in a candy rain storm! They had baggies full of sweets. Yikes!

After the parade we went to an open house of a beautiful country home! The home was on a 1.9 acre lot. We like the IDEA of living a country life but that is as far as it will ever come. We want to live closer to schools, work and shops etc. It is always fun to look. Dallin had a fun adventure of finding a frog and trying to pick it up. He thought that was pretty neat. We met some nice people, enjoyed free hot dogs and water. Then we headed back home and Penny was fast asleep as soon as she sat down, dreaming of lots of sweet things i'm sure!

Hip-Hip-Hooray For Birthday Parties

Dallin had the best time going to a friends birthday party! He was excited to wrap the present and when I went to pick him up he was telling me about all the fun they had! He broke the leg off the Pony Pinatta. He told me about all the presents, they played musical chairs! When I arrived to pick him up he was playing freeze dance. I was very impressed with his dancing skills. I had no idea he could dance ;) It is amazing what your kid will do when Mom is not around. He made sure to save Penny her favorite kind of candy "SMARTIES" and he wanted to decorate three cupcakes. One with blue sprinkles for Daddy and one with LOTS of candy on top for Mommy (the first picture above) and one for himself. Dallin is a thoughtful kid! And he came home with all sorts of goodies! He was thrilled to get lots of Incredible Hulk pencils. "COOL Man!" I love watching Dallin grow up, being a kid is so exciting.

Last Thursday . . .

Dallin woke up and posed for a picture wearing some silly socks that he found in Mommy's sock drawer. He gets little kicks and giggles out of wearing my socks ;) I have a drawer full of silly socks thanks to Great G-ma! Thursday was his last day of swimming classes. They had all the fun water spouts turned on. He was able to go down the water slide and they just played the whole time. Penny had a good time too :) We went to Sonics afterwards to celebrate a successful two weeks of swimming lessons!

A few blogs to take a look at . . .

At Everything Pink This gal is starting a girlfriend give and get, Christmas in July. She is a fun loving person and has found a family to help for this 2008 Christmas. I just observed what she did last year and I am excited to be apart of it this year. It will be fun. If you sign up you can donate 15 dollars to help this family and meet some great ladies out there in the blogging world. Click on her link to learn more :)

I also have found this creative blog Allsorts I think these dollypops are adorable!! .

Too Cute!! I think Penny would love playing with these bright and colorful dolls.

And the last link I would like to share is a blog that has really inspired me to be a different, kinder Mom and has taught me to really cherish each moment with my children. There is this Family that has recently lost a 1 year old daughter in a drowning accident. I have shed a lot of tears reading this blog and yes it is sad and so many times in my life I try to avoid the sad, tragic stories, but this story and this lady/ Mom is an amazing individual and has been sharing her truest, deepest feelings through there trial. She has a strong testimony and has an incredible understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is being watched over, blessed and strengthened by Heavenly Father and by a sweet little angel!

The more prayers in there behalf the better! Here is her Blog: A Daily Scoop

WARNING to the swimming teachers - Dallin and Spencer are very talkative :) and need extra TLC :)
Dallin is the smallest one in his group. They have to make sure and keep him in the more shallow end of the pool. One of Dallin's favorite games during class is playing SHARK and minnos. The teacher is the shark and tries to capture the little ones! Penny has been a good girl during the lessons. One Day she just sat down and colored and for most of the days I have been taking her over to a park right by the pool to let her swing.
FUN IN THE SUN

The boys have done really well. They will soon be pros at swimming :)
