First Day of Kindergarten

My big boy was so brave this morning! He was a little nervous but had no problem giving hugs and saying good bye to us, no tears, just excitement! Daddy stayed home for the big day and we started the morning with a yummy family breakfast, with the request for bacon from Dallin :) He was cheerful this morning and ready to begin this new chapter in his life of starting school!!

He gave us all love notes this morning! Notice the last picture of him and his chubby baby sister :) He sure does love his sisters! He is the best big brother!

Back to School Party

Penny got all dressed up and was ready to play. She played with the boys for a little bit and then she went to a girlfriends house and had a tea party with just girls :)

School Bus :)

Dallin is starting Kindergarten August 25th! Yesterday he met his teacher and toured his school. We went to the music room, gym, library, he played on the playground and he is excited to start. He wants to ride the bus, so that is going to be a big highlight for him. They had a bus for the kids to go inside yesterday, so he has picked out where he wants to sit and he is ready and waiting for his big day to come.

Tomorrow we are having a BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY for D. and five other friends. We will have this bus cookie for a treat and let the kids run wild and have lots of fun!!

Fried Green Tomatoes

Last night i got together with some church gals and we made homemade salsa - yummy! and i tried a fried green tomato for the first time - Mmmm Mmmm good!

Another Yummy to the Tummy idea for you is a recipe for ---

CAKE MIX COOKIES

You can use any type of cake mix, just add these few ingredients -
2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. oil Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes

The other night i used a lemon cake mix and added white chocolate chips to the batch (it was muy bien), you can even do a chocolate cake mix with mint chips or peanutbutter chips, the rainbow chip cake mix is excellent etc. whatever your taste buds desire!

A Baby Shower for a friend

Saturday i had a baby shower for a friend in my backyard. A gal that i was doing the shower with had some fun ideas. We decorated the back patio with a Welcome Baby Banner. The letters were embroidered on burp/diaper cloths -

We had fun making a diaper cake together and we made some roses with baby washcloths-

We had a muffin, fruit (a watermelon baby carriage), and juice breakfast -

We played a fun game. You stand and hold a piece of paper behind your back and you have fifty seconds to tear out a baby and the soon to be mommy gets to choose which baby will look like hers. i accidentally beheaded my paper baby, oops ;) I was very impressed with some of the other babies! (A thank you to my friend Rosie for the fun game and for helping with the shower ;)-


That is just a few highlights! The gal in the white is the other lady i did the shower with and she was so amazing with everything she put together! Tons of cute ideas!

Last but not least, the latest pictures of my baby. She already knows how to smile for the camera!

Today i came across a scripture found in -

1 Timothy Chapter 2 verses 1&2

It reads "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty"

As i read that scripture i pondered about how i need to pray more often for our country and our leaders, that we may continue to live in peace and that they may lead with godliness and honesty! O' how we need that for our country and if we pray and trust in God it will happen!

I hope and pray for my children to have a journey in life of conquering there individual pursuits of happiness. And that is made possible by knowing and feeling of how blessed they are to be Americans and acknowledging all that has been done to allow them to be free.

We have so much to be grateful for!!

Happy 4th of July

ALL AMERICAN CUTIE!

We went with some friends this morning and enjoyed a small town parade! The kids waved there flags and had a good time collecting candy! It was a short and sweet parade! My favorite part were the little ponies. Some day i would love to have a little Pony, a pig and a lamb, who knows maybe it will happen, it's fun to think about :) On the agenda for later is roasting marshmallows and watching fireworks and the kids bought some sparklers and pop its!
