Mr. D.

Last night Dallin spent the evening outside with his Buddy - (BUDRCUP, a butterfly) That's how Dallin spelled his name ;) He was sitting on the back patio, drawing pictures, he said "i love it out here, it feels so good."

There's nothing better than a nice autumn evening outside!

D. has loved going in the backyard and catching butterflies. This butterfly stayed on his shirt for a long time. You can see that picture in the collage.

Well, i haven't mentioned yet that Dalllin had to have three stitches in his lip last week. We went to a playground to play and we weren't even there for a minute, when Dallin was running to climb up the stairs on the play equipment and he slipped and hit his face on the metal stairs. He split his lip open and bruised his front teeth. He was swollen and sore for a few days. He was so brave with all the blood and needles for the stitching. He lived on soft foods for a few days and he has healed well.

Abuelo came to visit

for Penny's first Soccer Game Saturday Morning :)

And then in the Afternoon we went to Downtown Boise. It was a beautiful fall day, the kids played on the playgrounds, we had a picnic and went for a Bike ride. And the kids have wanted to go on the Paddle Boats. They had a blast with Abuelo! The kids were exhausted and so was Abuelo Saturday night! GOOD TIMES!

The Girls Room

For the past four years Dallin and Penny have shared a room. So, this past weekend we decided it was time to have the girls share a room. I love having all the pink girl stuff in one room, instead of mixed in with robots and reptiles. :)

BUTTERFLY GARLAND

I love the picture of the Savior with a Butterfly on his fingertip! So sweet and peaceful!

And new coordinating bedding from Target :)

Labor Day Weekend

Instead of a road trip this weekend, we stayed home and did some projects around the house :)

We put new bark in the back yard to get rid of some weeds, the annoying morning glory was taking over everything. When i write "WE" i actually mean Rolo did all the work and i watched him :) He's amazing!!

&
Rolo made these cool book shelves in Dallin's Room. We wanted to make a fun reading corner for the kids, and we found the idea to use vinyl rain gutters.

i love it! and the kids do too :)

we also decorated the girls room and i'll post pictures of that tomorrow.

Dear Daddy,

Thank you for being my Soccer Coach. I have been watching you and Dallin play for the past three years and now it is my turn to have you for a Coach. I love running really fast with you. And the best is trying to jump up really high and give you a high5. You are a fun Daddy! THANK YOU for making our own soccer field in our backyard, you work so hard!!!!

Dallin, Penny, & Allison

MR. D. has been busy with School :) HE LOVES IT! He loves eating lunch at school, i put Dr. Seuss notes in his lunch with a little treat and he comes home smiling telling me he made sure to read my love note for him :) He comes home from school happy and ready to play with his school friends and sisters. Being at school all day is perfect for D., the more he is entertained the better.

We have had a lot of butterflies in our backyard and this picture below is of Dallin being so gentle with a butterfly he caught.
Our Sweet P. has learned to ride her bike without training wheels. She decided to ride her bike without training wheels on Saturday and it only took her a few falls/tries to figure it out. She learned quickly but not without a wound to show for it. Her last ride on the road she was going to fast and looked behind to see where i was at and she lost control and fell onto a curb and hit her forehead (yes, she was wearing a helmet.) Anyhoo, she is very proud of her new accomplishment.
She has also started PRE-SCHOOL with her best friend :) They both were so excited!!!!!!!!!!

And tonight these two girls start playing SOCCER :)
Also, I love doing Penny's hair, this was her hair style on Sunday, little girls with braids, flowers and bows in there hair are so CUTE, i cherish the sweet moments of this little girl and her cuteness!!!

And our little SUNSHINE is wanting to do everything like her big siblings and is going thru a phase of getting frustated if she can't jump off the couch like they can, so much to learn and DISCOVER!!!! She has also been sick with a cold and has been very demanding :) so that's why i haven't blogged for a week! As long as this little girl is in the middle of all the fun, she is as happy as can be! :)

Back to School :)

Yesterday i had Dallin look at a back to school recipe book (FROM MA♥KEY) to pick out what kind of lunches he wanted me to make for him.

The picture below is a copy of the list he wrote of what he wanted for the next three days.

*savory ham tortilla wraps *a delicious vanilla fruit salad *Tossed chicken salad w/ mandarin oranges and almonds

I was a Proud Mom of his GREAT CHOICES :)
(thank you Ma♥Key for the book)

i am looking forward to 3:30 today to hear how his first day of 1st grade went. He was so excited to start school and this year his School got there own elementary building, which is fantastic!
The bilingual program is growing fast and doing great!!

Camping

we went to McCall this weekend for a camping adventure

the kids loved HIKING, it was a beautiful area!
they had fun playing in the dirt making a garden/playground for the ANTS, it was very clever what they designed, making a campfire, roasting marshmallows, being silly in the tent.
And for us as PARENTS
it was a lot of work with three little kids!

Family Reunion info

This Post is for my Penhallegon Family to Read :)

So, we went to Garden Valley today and checked out the Cabin for a Reunion. We loved it, the kids ran wild and they loved it and it would be perfect to fit all 29 of us.

So, the down side - i was hoping the cost would be $250 per family but it turns out their holiday rate is $360 per family. So, i think that is too much!

This cabin is huge and has plenty of space for everyone. It's a beautiful area in the mountains, it would be so neat to be there for Christmas!!

The pictures on their internet site don't do justice. There are six bedrooms for the couples and one large room with three bunk beds and five twin beds for all the cousins, it's on the upper loft area and the kids would have a blast being together, it's ideal for the kids.

Another thing to consider is the winter weather, you definitely do not want to travel on the roads up to this cabin in bad weather. We would lose our money, you have to give them the full amount in advance and it is not refundable

So, do you all want to crash at our house for FREE? :)

We could just wait and see if they actually book this Cabin for Christmas and if they don't we could possibly get the $250 rate as i was originally hoping for. And if we wait till November to book the rental we would have a better idea of what the weather might be like.

Thinking about the cost of the cabin, food, activities, and travel, we are totaling A LOT of moola :)

Another option - We can start saving and do this next year.

So, what do you all think????

This is turning out to be too complicated :)

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

today (July26th) i'm thinking of my G-ma Pen. It's her 88th birthday! That's amazing!
my kids love all the good mail they receive from G-ma, crazy socks, clothes, she can't pass a good deal$$$, she loves bright colors - as you can see with the table cloth behind us in the picture. She's a dedicated journalist, LOVES birds, a GREAT Grandma!

We discovered a COOP/Bird Blind where you can bird watch, it was a cool little fort, we saw two eagles and some babies in a big nest, we want to go back on a Saturday morning and take the kiddos. i love being outside and discovering all nature has to offer, endless beauty!
