SWEET VIOLETS

Yesterday, I was thinking about what kind of poem i would like to discover, so i thought to myself 'i will take a picture first and then have that inspire what kind of poem i would like to find' so . . . . here is my picture . .

When I looked up poems about violets there is a whole society that has been inspired by violets and have written poems about this flower. These little flowers are beauties. I pick some every day and put them in my kitchen window. Have a Beautiful Friday :) Love to all :)

The Violet

Down in a green and shady bed, A modest violet grew; Its stalk was bent, it hung its head As if to hide from view. And yet it was a lovely flower, Its colour bright and fair; It might have graced a rosy bower, Instead of hiding there. Yet thus it was content to bloom, In modest tints arrayed; And there diffused a sweet perfume, Within the silent shade. Then let me to the valley goThis pretty flower to see; That I may also learn to grow In sweet humility. Jane Taylor
